Strategic Planning Grant
TDO, in partnership with Syracuse University’s Leadership Institute, MACNY, and Innovation Management Consulting, Inc. was awarded the Department of Labor’s 32j – Accelerate NY – Strategic Business Planning Grant. The grant is aimed at helping small to medium sized manufacturers develop or refine their strategic business plans. The process moves companies efficiently through the development or refinement of their plans using a combination of a self-assessment benchmark tool, group sessions and one-on-one coaching. The program also results in a Syracuse University Certification in Strategic Business Planning for designated personnel who participate in and successfully complete all sessions. TWI Certified!

Kirk Wardell, TDO’s Senior Manufacturing Consultant, has become a certified trainer for all three Training Within Industry programs: Job Instruction, Job Methods and Job Relations. Each program requires the trainer to take the class as a participant and also to attend a rigorous 40 hour “train the trainer” session. The total class time invested in each program is 50 hours, before the additional hours of practice required prior to delivering each session. Gray-Syracuse Accepts Award from TDO
Thanks to Gray-Syracuse, Inc. of Chittenango, a division of ESCO Turbine Technologies, many companies have witnessed a successful workforce development program in action. TDO presented Gray-Syracuse with a Certificate of Appreciation for “Providing Leadership in the Development and Adoption of the Training Within Industry (TWI) Workforce Development Program for Manufacturers in New York and the United States”

Gray-Syracuse’s willingness to demonstrate the application of TWI at their facility to other manufactures has been instrumental in the emergence of the TWI program as a national resource. Watch for the upcoming article on Gray-Syracuse in the next TDO Solutions.
